Paolo Lazzaroni & Figli is based in Saronno Italy (near Milano) and is owned by the Lazzaroni Family
The Family originally used to own 2 different Lazzaroni Companies; in 1927 the two companies ended up in a new sole structure, which focused all energies on the cookies production, maintaining in the meantime also the production of Amaretto Lazzaroni 1851, being it always considered as their "liquid cookie”.
During the years the cookies company grew phenomenally well, becoming one of the most famous around the world, well known for its high quality standards.
In 1984, after the sale of the biscuit branch (the D. Lazzaroni & C, that today has nothing to see anymore with the Family or with Saronno) to an American multinational, Paolo Lazzaroni - namesake of his great grandfather, creator of the liqueurs - kept the Company "Paolo Lazzaroni & Figli“, later extended to many of the former products and having as glorious flag the well-known Amaretto Lazzaroni 1851.
At the beginning of the 90’s, Paolo Lazzaroni built in Saronno the actual plant.
The Company is today run by Paolo and Luca lazzaroni who are the 7th and 8th generation of a family of entrepreneurs who always worked in the high quality Italian food business through different companies.
Paolo Lazzaroni & Figli is very much export oriented, exporting in over 65 Countries through the 5 continent more of the 80% of its turnover. The Company, especially well known for its Amaretti biscuits Panettoni and for the Amaretto liqueur is committed to offering a wide variety of high quality Italian specialties to the high end worldwide specialty trade.
The Company activity is splitted in 3 different areas, biscuits and panettoni business and Liqueur one (since 1847).
Chiostro di SaronnoIt operates in the Liqueur Business under the “Lazzaroni” trademark, while in the Biscuits, Panettoni and Bakery one with the “Chiostro di Saronno” trademark. The “Chiostro di Saronno” is an ancient Franciscan cloister located in the center of the town of Saronno. This is the home of our Company and the place where we keep our more prestigious recipes.
These are created with a passion to obtain the highest quality products with particular attention to the authenticity of the ingredients; the search and selection of the best ingredients, production processes following traditional criteria and the culture of leaving the needed and correct time to each phases of different productions ensure the quality of our products.
Saronno is famous for any type of Amaretto base product, and flagship of the Company are its worldwide famous Amaretti Chiostro di Saronno, the Panettone Amaretto (filled and coated with the Amaretti), as well as in the liqueurs the Amaretto Lazzaroni 1851, the only “liquid cookie” ever existed, Still made following step by step the old recipe dated 1851, through the infusion in alcohol of the Amaretti Chiostro di Saronno cookies.
